>Examine room.

You throw open the heavy hotel room curtains and then manage to wedge the window open along with them. Seattle is unusually sunny and warm today with a slight breeze drifting in off the sound. It seems to even smell slightly less like pee than usual.

The hotel room is immaculate except for three corners, each occupied by a suitcase owned by a different occupant of the room. Yours is still mostly packed, though you have a vinyl bag of makeup and toiletries sitting on top of it along with your clothes for the day. The other two suitcases are in shambles, not much more than piles of clothes (maybe clean. maybe.) stuffed into well-worn duffle bags.

You’re the only person in the room who’s really awake. Adam and Jackson, the friends you’re attending the convention with, are still nestled in their blanket cocoons. Last night they built a pillow barricade between themselves to prevent any unintentional sleep cuddling but it seems to have been dismantled at some point in the night and the pillows are all on the floor and Adam is upside down.

>Tug off their blankets as you pass.
